Here are some of my favorite drawings from one of my finals, a short storyboard excerpted from Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. It’s an interesting read for sure—not for the faint of heart though.

Haven’t updated here in a while! I’m finally getting to draw more from the model again and it feels good to get back into the groove. Here are some watercolor costume figures from last semester that I never posted!

Working on finalizing my main thesis character’s design! I’m vaguely worried that she’s looking a little too reminiscent of Paranorman’s Aggie though…

I love how stuff automatically looks better when you stick it all together.

tiny bit of thesis. I can’t wait to draw the final on this shot.

Since she died so long ago, she doesn’t remember who she was when she was alive. The only clue she has is a biplane airplane necklace.

I am so behind on thesis it’s ridiculous. OTL I mean, I honestly think watching Gravity Falls was a good idea in terms of research and frame of reference, but still it’s already November. AHHHHH. I just want someone to like, critique my story and thumbnail sketches and completely rip it apart so I can get some better sense of direction haha.

Some digital figure paintings from life done in class. I wanted to experiment more with color combinations. Pretty happy with how these came out. :)

Some character design work for Annie, one of the main characters of my thesis. First I drew a more semi-realistic version directly from a photo that I found in the NYPL Picture Collection. After that, I began to caricature it and play with a bunch of different shapes. It was kind of new kind of process for me and it was really helpful. :)

Really rough animation test for my thesis. I know that parts of it are going to be animated,  so I’m trying to see what would be feasible in the time I have to do it.
